Shineylewis Gets A Makeover
So, I just purchased ‘The Art Behind The Headshot‘ by Peter Hurley. All I can say is WOW.
This DVD will forever change the way you photograph people. One of my best purchases EVER.
Armed with some of this new knowledge (I can’t remember it all and will probably re-watch the video a billion times), I decided to try it out on myself. I used Peter’s suggested light set up for those that don’t own Kino Flos, which consists of four lights up front and two on the background. One soft box on the top and bottom and a strip box on each side. This is how Peter gets his signature square catchlights which I absolutely love. It’s a very flattering light that he uses on males and females. I’m pretty satisfied with the result and hope to utilize this set up frequently.
I hope my mom likes the result. She’s always telling me ‘how sick’ she is of seeing pictures of Fred…
Here’s the trailer for the DVD, which sold me instantaneously:

My husband Fred & I own Zion Cycles, a bicycle shop in Springdale, Utah - just outside of Zion National Park.
I live, eat, breath, sleep & dream about Photoshop. Sick...I know.

Great trailer, they’ve convinced me what I want for Xmas.
